Prize winner of CTIT symposium 2017 
On 14 Nov 2017, Eyuel D. Ayele won the 2nd prize of 1-minute madness and the 1st public prize for his elevator pitch entitled "Internet of Wild Animals (IoWA) – Leveraging BLE and LoRa in IoT Network".

CTIT symposium 2017 - IoT is Ready: What about us? 
On 14 Nov 2017, CTIT symposium 2017 was held. The thema of this year symposium was Internet of Things and its readiness. This year symposium took a truly multi-disciplinary view on this emerging topic, which should not be addressed in separation. The program addresses IoT from multiple points of view, all brought together within a single focus on maturity, usefulness, and major challenges.
CTIT symposium 2017 was organized by PS and around 200 people participated the event.

4TU IoT workshop 
The second IoT workshop in the context of the 4TU IoT4U project, was organized on 13 and 15 November at the University of Twente. In this workshop, various lectures were given by researchers from the University of twente, University of Delft, and University of Eindhoven covering various IoT aspects inlcuding sensing, wireless communication, sensor data analytics, privacy, security, and data-driven design.

World Class Maintenance PhD award for Fatjon Seraj 
On 31 Oct 2017, Fatjon Seraj won the PhD award of the World Class Maintenance (WCM) for his PhD research. The award was presented during the WCM annual congress, which this year was around the theme "The Amazing World of Maintenance" and was held in Nieuwegein.

Fatjon Seraj successfully defended his doctoral thesis  
On 28 June 2017, Fatjon Seraj successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Rolling vibes: continuous transport infrastructure monitoring”. The research has been performed under supervision of Prof. Paul Havinga (promotor) and Dr. Nirvana Meratnia (assistant-promotor).
