Cyber-Physical Systems workshop in Brussels 
On 29-30 October 2013, Paul Havinga attended the workshop “Cyber-Physical Systems: Uplifting Europe's innovation capacity” in Brussels, where he presented the success story of the Wibrate project. The presentation was well received by the more than 100 people in the audience.

FP7 project GENESI successfully ended 
On 25 Oct 2013, the final project review of the GENESI project took place in Fribourg, Switzerland. Following the review, GENESI project was successfully ended and was stated that it has fully achieved its objectives and in some cases has gone beyond. The GENESI project addresses long lasting structural health monitoring of buildings, bridges, tunnels using wireless sensor networks.

Go-Green consortium met with its user committee 
On 30 September 2013, the Go-Green consortium met with its user committee member Bram Reinders from Alliance. In this meeting, project objectives and approaches were discussed and new trends and challenges were identified.

Tom Wood successfully defended his doctoral thesis  
On 13 September 2013, Tom Woods successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled "The lightweight flow engine: A Model for rapid development and emulation of telecommunication services”. The research has been performed under supervision of Prof. Sape Mullender (promotor).
