Invited talk at the Netherlands-Taiwan ICT Workshop 
On 13 May 2014, Paul Havinga gave an invited talk entitled "Opportunistic Sensing and Networking for Emergency Applications" at the Netherlands-Taiwan ICT Workshop being held at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The workshop offered a unique opportunity to explore cooperation possibilities between the Netherlands and Taiwan in the area of ICT.

In memoriam: Pierre Jansen 
On May 12, 2014, our colleague ir. Pierre Jansen passed away. Even after his retirement in 2008, Pierre remained actively interested in research of Pervasive Systems. Besides of being an enthusiastic computer scientist and passionate about real-time systems, system programming and hacking, he was a kind, sportive, energetic, and knowledgeable colleague, whom we shall greatly miss.

Raja Karuppiah Ramachandran presents his paper at ISSNIP 2014 
On 25 April 2014, Raja Karuppiah Ramachandran, one of PS MSc students, presented his paper at the 9th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing (ISSNIP) in Singapore. The paper entitled "Energy-Efficient On-node Signal Processing for Vibration Monitoring", reports on the research being performed in the context of the Wibrate project.

Sunrise disscussions at ISSNIP 2014 
On 23 April 2014 and during the ISSNIP conference in Singapore, PS delegate met with Prof. Marimuthu Palaniswami from University of Melbourne, Australia to discuss, among other research topics and initiatives, Sunrise project and underwater research.

First review meeting of SUNRISE project 
On 14-15 April 2014, the first review meeting of the SUNRISE project with the EC reviewers took place in Lerici, Italy. The review meeting went succeffuly and the project evaluated to have achieved good progress.
