Joint workshop of CAMINO and Twente47 on theme Water  
On 11 April 2017, CAMINO and Twente47 jointly organized a workshop around the theme Water in Enschede. Around 55 interested professionals joined the workshop to discuss water problems in and around cities and possible technological solutions.

Mitra Shariati Najafabadi successfully defended her doctoral thesis  
On 23 March 2017, Mitra Shariati Najafabadi successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled "Migration timing and stopover selection for barnacle geese Branta leucopsis”. The research has been performed under supervision of prof. Andrew Skidmore, (promoter), Prof. Paul Havinga (promoter), and Dr. Darvishzadeh (assistant-promotor).

LoRa workshop  
On 10 March 2017 and in the context of the 4TU IoT4U project, PS organized a half-a-day workshop on investigating the potential of LoRa for future IoT applications. About 90 participants universities, hogeschool students, and professionals from related disciplines came together to exchange knowledge on IoT, LoRa and associated applications and to identify future challenges in LPWANs.

IoT session at Kramp BV. 
On 3 March 2017, Paul Havinga and Nirvana Meratnia talked about IoT, its applications, and challenges in an IoT session organized by Kramp BV. Kramp is specialized in logistics of spare parts of machines and tools in the field of agriculture and farming.
