CLAM sea trial in 200 meter deep water 
CLAM partners performed a set of underwater tests in 200 meter deep water in Horten, Norway. In these experiments, the new CLAM underwater node and networking solutions were tested.

First review meeting of WiBRATE project 
The first review meeting of WiBRATE project took place on 14th November 2012 at Leuven, Belgium. Piror to that, the third plenary meeting and review preparation meeting of WiBRATE took place on 12th and 13th November 2012. The meeting was organized and hosted by the project partner LMS International, Leuven, Belgium. The project partners presented their results, live demos and prototypes platforms developed during the first year of the project. The future plan of the project , dissemination activities and project organization where also discussed with the European Commission´s reviewers.

3 accepted papers at Internet of Things Conference 2012 
The 3rd International Conference on the Internet of Things (IoT2012) was held in Wuxi, China on October 24-26, 2012. During this conference, 3 phd students of Pervasive Systems, i.e, Bram Dil, Kallol Das, and Viet Duc Le presented their accepted papers.

PS organized "IoT Challenge" competition 
On 24 October 2012 and during the Internet of Things (IoT) conference, held in Wuxi, China, Pervasive Systems organized "IoT Challenge" competition. Out of 14 papers submitted to the challenge, the best three were selected based on thorough review results. During the competition, these three best papers had to give a demonstration to the organizing committee and to the audience, after which the winner was selected based on public votes.

To be eligible for the challenge, the contributions should not have only presented a working system but also should have clearly described how it solves the real-world problem and how it goes beyond the State of the Art solutions.

Based on both review results and public votes, the end results were:

- First place and second prize: Darren Carlson, Bashar Altakrouri, Andreas Schrader for their paper entitled "AmbientWeb: Bridging the Web’s Cyber-physical Gap"

- Second place and second prize: Ioannis Chatzigiannakis, Henning Hasemanny, Marcel Karnstedtz, Oliver Kleinex, Alexander Krollery, Myriam Leggieriz, Dennis Pfistererx, Kay Romer, and Cuong Truong for their paper entitled "True Self-Configuration for the IoT"

- Third place and third prize: Tao Gong, Zheng Hu, HaiFeng Liu, Feng Lin, Dian Zhou, Hui Tian for their paper entitled "Context-aware Computing Mediated Dynamic Service Composition and Reconfiguration for Ubiquitous Environment"

SeaSTAR underwater experiments in the diving center 
On 22 October 2012, PS participated in underwater experiments in the diving center Dive World Enschede. These experiments were part of SeaSTAR project and aimed to test collaborative beamforming techniques.
