WiBRATE Summer School
The 3-days summer school on "Cyber Physical Systems for Industrial Applications: Wireless self-powered vibration monitoring and control" organized by the FP7 project WIBRATE was held on 8-10 September 2014 in Lugano Switzerland. Starting from case studies provided by Centro Ricerche FIAT, Honeywell, Perpetuum and Siemens the summer school introduced participants to theoretical approaches and practical aspects of industrial Cyber Physical Systems solutions design. Typical industrial issues such as wireless communication, energy harvesting and vibration analysis, monitoring and control have been addressed. The Coordinator of the WiBRATE project, Prof. Paul Havinga, served as the Scientific Coordinator of the Summer School.

Final event of Networked Smart Systems course
Networked Smart Systems is a Bachelor course given by the Pervasive Systems group. During this course, students are given various assignments in which they display their skills and knowledge about programming hardware, using sensors and working with distributed systems. The final assignment of the course was RSSI-based localization, which students would compete in designing the most accurate technique.

Similar to previous years. this year's demonstration was quite successful. All students demonstrated and explained their project, resulting in an interesting afternoon.
